    Durdle
Thank you for your creature concern Durdle, I was touched (but to be open and honest I have been touched many times before, thought never before by a live Durdle). Seeing the Dorset connection I assume your name was chosen by reference to Durdle Door. My paternal antecedents lived in Weymouth and Portland for generations, but of course, your ancestors may not have lived where you do. A per pro of nothing, my great-great grandfather's ship is mentioned in the novel 'Moonfleet' by J. Meade Falkner. Both my g-g-gf and Falkner lived in Weymouth. I was sorry when Portland's Pennsylvania Castle reverted to private ownership. The restaurant there was one of the finest I know of. I stayed at the Pennsylvania Castle hotel for a week back in 1980.
